Many challenges can come along with controlling mice, in certain environments, especially if there are and behavioural or genetic resistances. 

The surrounding conditions can also provide challenges in gaining effective and long term control, such as  building type, neighbouring properties and internal conditions (hygiene, etc). We also need to think about the species of mouse!
