BPCA international training survey launches

SECTOR NEWS

Pest management business owners outside the UK are invited to help British Pest Control Association (BPCA) explore demand for international training and certification.

If your business operates in a country where suitable professional pest management training is limited, difficult to access or missing important subjects, we want to understand what would help.

TAKE NOW

BPCA is seeking views from business owners on the training available to their teams, where provision falls short and whether a BPCA programme could help fill those gaps.

The survey is open to any pest management business owner outside the UK whose country has gaps in training provision.

You do not need to be a BPCA member or Observer to take part.

What does your team need?

We want to know which knowledge and skills would make the biggest difference to your business, who would benefit from training and how it could be delivered.

The survey explores practical considerations, including language, cost, assessment and the importance of local recognition. It also asks about existing qualifications and providers, helping BPCA understand how any future programme could complement the training already available.

Karen Dawes, BPCA Training Development Manager, said:

“Finding suitable training for your team can be difficult when local options are limited. We want to hear from business owners about what is missing and what would make training useful and accessible to their technicians.

Your answers will help us understand whether BPCA could help, which subjects matter most and what we would need to consider before developing a programme. We need that input from businesses before deciding what to offer.

Help shape the next steps

BPCA is exploring training in professional pest management knowledge and principles that could apply across countries, while also meeting local content needs.

No programme has been agreed. The survey will help establish whether there is sufficient interest and what any future offer should involve. Recognition by national authorities or qualification bodies would need to be explored separately.

Whether you need a stronger foundation for new technicians or further development for experienced staff, tell us where the gaps are.
